Betting Systems

Yes, in the short run all betting systems can win but sooner or later all betting systems will lose.

Below we cover just a few betting systems.

Advice

If you have to use a betting system, NEVER pay any money for a betting system, they exist all over the internet for free and NEVER use a betting system all the time.
Although many will find this information useful, it is important to keep in mind that none of the betting techniques described below can win 100% of the time. NEVER. PERIOD.
Instead find betting situations that will have a short term advantage based off of the frequency of the bet. More information about this type of play coming soon in our advanced member section.

There are two main categories of betting systems. Positive and Negative systems.

A third category would be bet selection systems where the wagers stay the same.

Positive progression betting

Your bet is increased each time you win. This betting technique is very popular, as a large bankroll is not necessary to begin with.

A simple way to bet more when you are winning is to slowly increase your bets after a win and decrease your bet to the minimum when you lose. This is known as a positive progressive system. If you are going to try any type of betting system, you should only try a positive progression. With a positive progression a series of losses will not wipe out your bankroll.

A positive progression played properly will not hurt you since you are only increasing your bet after a win.
If you feel that you want to try a betting system, this is the one to use.

The secret to successfully using a positive progression is to make sure you collect enough winnings to insure a small profit before you start to raise your bets. This is called locking up a profit. Many players will raise their bets before they have locked up a profit and when they lose they have not won any money.

Parlay System

Commonly used in horse racing and sports wagering, the Parlay system takes the winnings from one bet and invests those on the following bet.

This system can be regarded as being reasonably safe. Players using this technique will add the winnings of their last bet to the wager of the next bet. A Let it Ride mentality. The largest loss would only be the initial bet.

Paroli System

The Paroli system is a positive progression system like the Parlay system and it is designed to take advantage of winning streaks. You begin by choosing a predetermined number of wins for the progression. For example: You decide to use three wins as your progression. Here is an example.

If you lose at any time during the progression you go back to your original starting bet.

Go Up Half

This is a very popular positive progression system. You increase your bet 50% after you win. Here is an example.

Oscar's Grind

There are three rules for using Oscar's Grind:
Start with a one unit bet.
Rule # 1: Increase your bet by one unit after every win.
Rule # 2: Bet the same number of units after a loss.
Rule # 3: Never bet more than enough to end a series with a one unit win. Once you
win one unit, the series starts over.

To illustrate this, you bet $10, which is one unit.
If you win, you end the series.
If you lose, continue to bet $10 until you win one time.
Why do you end the series if you win the first hand? See Rule #3.
Now, let's say you have lost three bets in a row, then you win. You are now down $20 in the progression. You increase your bet to $20 because of rule #1. If you win, you are now even in the progression, so your bet drops back to $10 because of rule #3.

Example #2: You bet $10, and you lose five bets in a row.
You are down five units or $50. You win the sixth bet. You are now down $40. Rule #1, increase your bet to $20 or 2 units by adding one unit to your bet. You win again, and are down only $20 now. Again rule #1, you increase your bet to $30, or three units total.
This is in agreement with rule #3, because if you win, you will be up one unit, or $10 and the progression is over.

Example #3: You bet $10, and lose two bets in a row. You are down $20.
You win the third bet. Now you are only down $10. You add one unit to the win, making the next bet $20. This will bring you up to a #10 profit if you win, so it complies with rule #3. However, you don't win. You lost the $20 bet.
What is your next bet? Rule #2 says you bet the same amount you just lost. Therefore, your next bet is $20 or two units. You are down $20. You stay at $20 wagers until you win. This time, you are lucky and win. You are now even, and your win was $20. The next bet of $10 complies with rule #3. If you win you will be up one unit and the progression ends.

The player must set a stop loss limit and a stop win limit. Works best on even money bets at any casino game.

Negative progression betting

This betting progression increases the bet after a loss. It is largely used in order to recover from a losing streak. However, it requires a much larger bankroll and usually results in many small wins and a few very large losses.

A negative progression system has you increase your bets after a loss in hopes of getting back to even or a one unit profit after a win. These negative systems are extremely dangerous because you can lose your entire bankroll after a series of losses.

Martingale system

The principles of the system are as follows: if you win, you should alter your bet, but if you lose, you should aim at doubling the bet you just lost.

The Martingale system is a negative progression system. As described above, it is consequently a highly risky technique that relies on a considerable bankroll. The main idea behind the system is that despite the fact that you will lose on a regular basis, there is a moment when you will win, allowing you to recover all of your losses plus an extra. However, all casinos have table maximum limits, which means that if you should reach that limit, the technique loses its credibility and legitimacy.

D`Alembert System

Another negative progression system theory devised by a French mathematician of the same name. This system will raise the bet one unit after each loss and similarly will decrease the bet one unit after each win. This system is usually applied to even money bets. Using this technique will allow you to compensate your losses by gradually betting higher after losing, while letting you keep most of your winnings by betting slightly less each time you win. Still a lot of small wins with a few large losses.

The Avant Dernier System

The Avant Dernier is a popular bet select system, especially with even money bets. Avant Dernier is French for "before last", which sums up how this bet select system works. The Avant Dernier player, bets on the second last winning result.
As an example of the Avant Dernier system, if we had a series of results from the game of Baccarat: Banker, Player, Player, Banker. Then the next bet would be on Player. If we had the series Player, Banker, Banker; then our next bet would be Banker.

The Avant Dernier hopes to catch a streak of wins on either the Banker or Player. It can also hold up to alternating patterns of Player and Banker wins. If you can get a lot of these patterns then the Avant Dernier system is very profitable.
The Avant Dernier system fails when you have "double alternating streaks". That is, when wins come in pairs like Banker, Banker, Player, Player, Banker, Banker etc.

While it does not guarantee a win every session, it does have a surprisingly high success rate for creating winning sessions.
