How to play the Don't Pass
The basic game of Craps involves making the Pass Line bet.
Here we can play the Don't Pass. It is just the opposite of the Pass Line bet.
- The Don't Pass wins on a 2 or 3 on the come out roll.
- It pushes or ties if a 12 rolls on the come out roll.
- Loses on a 7 or 11 on the come out roll.
- The advantage starts once the point is established. You always have six ways to win.
- If the point is a 4 or 10 you have only 3 ways to lose.
- If the point is a 5 or 9 you have only 4 ways to lose.
- If the point is a 6 or 8 you have only 5 ways to lose.

Why bet the don't pass? It is the opposite bet of the pass line. If the shooters can not roll point winners it seems like a "no brainer" to bet for the 7 with the don't pass. Its disadvantage is it loses on a come out roll 7 or 11.
The house edge between the two bets are almost identical so the choice is up to the player.
Laying the odds on the don't pass can get confusing for most players. Most craps players choose to make the pass line bet over the don't pass bet.
